The growth of our retail branch network has kept HBOS in the news. But our success isn't just down to a long list of facts and figures. Here in Sales Management, our graduate scheme is focused on creating a talent pipeline that meets HBOS' needs for successful Area Sales Managers. At its core, Retail is about managing our growing branch network and delivering value to our customers.
What you'll be doing
You'll have a series of placements across different branches that will encourage you to learn about the various parts of our business. The progression will be quick and the challenges you face will include learning about products, sales and looking after customers and colleagues.
Your development
We want you to take responsibility for driving your career forward – so there's plenty of opportunity available but no hand–holding on offer.
Your training will start with a twelve–week Branch Management Pathways induction programme for new Managers. The placements you rotate through will also increase your knowledge of our products and processes. Then, you'll benefit from our Core Development Training Programme, designed to give you the skills you need to go forward.
From managing and leading people to delivering the best customer service, negotiating effectively and gaining insight into how HBOS works, you'll be given opportunities to learn and grow that are simply second–to–none.
From day–one of your first placement, you'll have contact with customers and colleagues that will provide you with additional opportunities to learn.
What you'll achieve
Finding out exactly how our branches work and how to lead and motivate a team will be essential parts of your progress. What's more, you'll gain valuable experience in improving the resources and systems that support our sales and our customers. It's a fast–paced setting, and you'll refine your business judgement and your ability to communicate with a wide range of people.
If you're successful on this scheme, you'll be managing your own branch within two years. It's a challenging setting and one where hard work, innovation and a positive approach will be rewarded.
