Insight Investment IT Scheme
As the asset manager of HBOS plc, Insight is one of the UK's largest asset managers and manages money for private investors, pension funds, insurance groups and institutions.
We maintain investment expertise across key asset classes such as fixed income and equities. As well as conventional benchmark products, we look to lead the way in investor responsibility solutions, absolute return strategies that employ derivative securities, structured solutions and liability driven investments for pension schemes.
Our IT teams utilise state of the art technology to ensure we efficiently manage monies for our clients and to support the development of innovative investment solutions to take advantage of the changing face of the market.
At Insight we are looking for people that combine communication skills with analytical ability and commercial awareness.
What you'll be doing
The Insight scheme offers Graduates the opportunity to work in the IT Projects and IT Business Support Areas.
On the scheme you will find yourself analysing data requirements and developing creative solutions to support our strategic projects as well as taking ownership and being involved in the resolution of issues. You will understand the Project lifecycle to give you end to end exposure to the Department.
Through gaining exposure to different areas of Technology, you will learn about our systems including how to build "Insight secure" desktop PCs and analysing data in complex derivative trading systems. By building up valuable skills and developing a deep understanding of the issues faced in different parts of our business you will understand fully how an asset management company works from a technology perspective.
The application of technology to key business processes will require you to work as part of a team, liaising regularly with key business users. You will also have the ability to process and synthesise information effectively, resolve queries promptly and deliver to required deadlines.
Your development
You'll build your skills as you go and make important new contacts through the teams you meet. At every step of the way, you'll be supported by a mentor who can mange your expectations, channel your abilities and develop your potential. Alongside on–the–job training, you'll also have formal opportunities to learn about our systems and the way our business works. We'll encourage you to build strong communication and team building skills.
What you'll achieve
On the Insight Investment IT scheme you'll be joining one of the most exciting parts of our business and will build both your technical knowledge and your wider business skills. We want people with the charisma to lead and the knowledge to make decisions that drive the growth of our business. Taking on independent projects will be a test of your abilities as will your ability to contribute effectively to a team.
This is a demanding option and at the end of it you'll be ready to move into a BA or Technical Support role within a key part of our business.
