This programme is designed to target and develop HBOS' future leaders. Alongside plenty of ambition, we look for enthusiastic, innovative people with excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and support others. This programme is right for graduates that have the confidence to take ownership of their careers.
We offer an intensive programme designed to accelerate your progress and prepare you for a leadership role. The training will be extensive and you'll experience high profile opportunities in business, management, technology, strategy and service.
What you'll be doing
Your role is divided into placements, personal development and programme.
- Placements – Your placements will last between three and six months for the first two years. The final placement will be for the entire third and final year. The opportunities we offer cover Service Management, Project Management, Strategy Development, Operations, Supplier Management and IT Architecture. You'll enjoy exposure to projects that shape the future of a wide range of products and services.
- Personal Development – Not only will you broaden your skills and knowledge through on–the–job training, you'll also be given extensive training in practical business areas as well as in interpersonal skills. From business writing to influencing and presenting, you'll have every opportunity to grow.
- Programme – Alongside all the work you do on your placements and the training you receive, you'll have the opportunity to shape and influence our Graduate Programme. Your input will help us ensure our approach meets the needs of current and future graduates.
Your development
We encourage our graduates to pursue the training and qualifications they need to turn their ambitions into concrete career plans. Your training package will focus on both behavioural and practical business skills. So, whether you're focused on IT Services, Strategic Planning or Customer Service, you'll find plenty of opportunities to continue learning. You'll also be assigned a Mentor to help you gain insight into senior management and build the right career path. Together, your manager and buddy from an earlier graduate intake will also help you decide how and where to direct your abilities.
What you'll achieve
You'll be part of the pipeline of talent at the heart of HBOS' progress. Through your placements, you'll be introduced to a range of people and learn the value of developing strong team–working skills. At the same time, your commercial awareness will increase as your experience in communication and relationship building continues. After three years, you will have been given the opportunity to develop the skills and experience needed to take on a management role. This programme is definitely a two–way street where your achievement will reflect the effort you invest. What's more, your development won't stop after the programme and you can expect to continue to build your knowledge and experience as you move forward.
