At Group Internal Audit, we make sure that our business has the objective and independent assurances to continue operating successfully. Risk management, control and governance processes are all essential to HBOS' legal and financial well–being. With placements in either Edinburgh or Halifax, our graduates can look forward to starting a career where their contribution will only grow in importance.
What you'll be doing
Our goal is to turn graduates into highly skilled internal auditors. Over the course of two placements, you'll gain a wide understanding of what we do and it's importance to HBOS. What's more, if you're highly motivated and confident when it comes to making decisions, you'll find plenty of opportunity to develop and progress. It's a highly professional setting where professionalism and respect define what we do.
Your development
We start by giving our graduates an induction course that covers the basics of audit methodology. As you progress, you'll also receive training in presentation skills, stakeholder management and other disciplines connected to your bespoke development plan. In addition, we expect you to work towards additional qualifications such as Institute of Internal Auditors. Your placement will also provide opportunities for learning on–the–job and increasing your understanding of HBOS.
Your skills' profile
Ultimately, you'll becomes a business ambassador ready to advise and support teams across the business. Not only will you have the technical skills to manage key business issues, you'll also be able to communicate and negotiate with stakeholders in wide–ranging roles.
What you'll achieve
By the end of the scheme, you could move into a role as a Senior Internal Auditor. you'll probably also be working toward additional qualifications. With the right level of ambition and determination, you'll most likely be ready for a senior management role in a relatively short space of time.
