Training without equal "I started off with training at the London Stock Exchange and then moved on to Credit Risk where I spent four months. After that, I moved on to Market Risk where I learned about daily market risk reporting and started my CFA qualification. Right now, I'm looking forward to working in Counterparty Credit and Investment Credit – two areas that promise to be especially challenging. That said, it's a relaxed culture and I feel that I get a balance between hard work and time for my personal life. It's really the best of both worlds – you can enjoy variety and a positive work place.
"Where I work, I can gain exposure to a wide range of products and still feel like an integral part of the machine."
Getting involved from the very start "I've been involved in interesting assignments such as the compliance/Basel project. It's brought together a range of resources and should have a real impact going forward. Understanding technical concepts has been a big challenge. In fact, I've had to bring together lots of skills from talking about technical specifications of a strategy to the inter–personal skills to explain calculations. I'm also preparing for the CFA examinations which will provide a firm foundation for my future career."
