You just can't predict what each day will bring. "I'm delighted with the places my graduate scheme has taken me. It's been an amazing and fast–paced journey. I first joined HBOS back in August 2002 as a Graduate Trainee. Within two months, I became Branch Manager in Beaconsfield. Since then, I've managed numerous branches across the North West of England, and am currently a City Manager in Bury. That means I look after two branches, and all of the responsibilities that come with them."

Experience is the best form of training. "Like any successful business person, I've worked hard to get here. But to be fair, I haven't had to do it all by myself. Throughout my graduate scheme and beyond, I've been surrounded by people with a similar drive and desire to succeed, and that's really helped me to progress. It's largely thanks to this supportive and empowering culture that I've been able to realise my ambitions. There are still plenty of challenges ahead. After all, HBOS is a huge Organisation and I've been able to build on my experiences and create exactly the kind of career I want."
