I like the energy and impact that delivering a product programme provides. "I started out in Personal Lending where my work involved using systems to track incidents as they happened in our branches. Resolving problems was important and so was learning to work closely with customer facing colleagues. I also gained experience in small projects that helped me see how multi–faceted IT support needs to be when a bank this size is providing personal loans to customers."

Recently, I've taken the initiative to create a shared programme management office to support several product development programmes. "there's been so many opportunities available to me from the first day I joined. The variety of responsibilities is also very impressive – and positive. I have contact across different divisions and that gives me a perspective outside the specific needs of Retail. One of the most interesting projects I've been involved in is the Faster Payments Service. It's an initiative that's attracted national press and involves all of the top UK banks working together to make single payments faster. I'm now looking forward to becoming a Project Leader and, eventually a Programme Manager. What's been really important to me is the way people have supported and acted on my ideas."
