The scheme organises networking events, so you can meet people from a variety of teams. "My first placement was in Relationship Banking, split between the Real Estate and Commercial businesses. It's here that I learned about key banking principles. I chose Oil and Gas for my second placement and for my third I'm considering Private Equity or another look at banking through the credit system. One of the best things for me is the incredible amount of diversity on offer within Corporate. I have four placements during the scheme so there's plenty of exposure and real opportunities to build on my credit and analytical skills."

Challenges that count. "I didn't have any experience in banking, so I've found the opportunities to learn particularly enjoyable. The training has been excellent and I've had courses in everything from business development to managerial skills. They've been a great compliment to everything I've been doing while I've been on the job. I think it's important to be enthusiastic and ambitious, the rest I've been able to learn as I have progressed. Once I complete the scheme I know there will be plenty of opportunities for me given the track–records of previous graduates."
